Saudi Arabia announces new Umrah season schedule for 2026–2027

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced the key dates and schedule for the upcoming Umrah season, outlining a detailed timeline for visa issuance, entry permissions, and departure deadlines for pilgrims from around the world.
According to the ministry, Umrah pilgrims will be allowed to enter Makkah starting from 15 Dhul Hijjah 1448 AH, marking the formal beginning of the new season. This early entry window is intended to help manage pilgrim flow and ensure smooth arrangements for religious visitors.
The issuance of Umrah visas will begin on May 31, 2026, enabling Muslims globally to apply and travel to the Kingdom for performing Umrah. The ministry also confirmed that Umrah permits will be issued digitally through the Nusuk app starting June 1, 2026, further streamlining the registration process and enhancing digital accessibility for pilgrims.

Officials stated that the final date for issuing Umrah visas has been set as 1 Shawwal 1448 AH (March 9, 2027). Meanwhile, the last date for pilgrims to enter Saudi Arabia has been fixed at 15 Shawwal 1448 AH (March 23, 2027), ensuring proper crowd management during peak periods.
The ministry further clarified that pilgrims must depart the Kingdom by 30 Shawwal 1448 AH (April 7, 2027), after which the Umrah season will officially conclude. These structured deadlines have been introduced to facilitate better administrative planning and improve the overall experience for pilgrims.
Saudi authorities have urged intending pilgrims to complete their registration and travel documentation well in advance to avoid any inconvenience. They also emphasised compliance with updated guidelines and digital procedures to ensure a smooth and organised pilgrimage experience.
The announcement reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to modernise Hajj and Umrah services through digital platforms and improved logistical planning, aiming to accommodate millions of pilgrims safely and efficiently each year.
